Start With Ali is operated by Ali Villani. This policy explains, in plain language, what information this website may collect, how it is used and how you can get in touch about it.
I only ask for what is genuinely needed. This website does not ask for your weight, height, date of birth, medical conditions, medications, menopause status, diagnoses or detailed medical history.
The quiz uses your answers to suggest one of five Starting Points: More Energy, More Protein, Better Gut Health, Weight & Nutrition or Healthier Habits.
This is a general wellbeing education experience. It is not a medical assessment, a health or nutritional diagnosis, a clinical assessment, medical advice or personalised medical treatment.
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors move through the site, for example how many people start the quiz or reach a Starting Point. Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC act as the analytics provider and process this information on my behalf.
Only general behaviour is measured. Your name, email address, Talk to Ali message content, individual quiz answer text and any health information are never sent to Google Analytics.
Where a campaign link is used, the standard campaign parameters in the web address (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term) may be recorded with your quiz or enquiry so I can see which campaigns are helpful.
If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics cookies are only set after you accept them. Elsewhere, including Australia, Google Analytics runs without a cookie prompt. Wherever you are visiting from, the Cookie settings link in the footer shows your analytics and advertising choices separately, and lets you accept, decline or change either one at any time; declining is as easy as accepting. Your choices are saved in your browser, so they apply on that device and browser only.
The Better After 40 Guide page can use the Meta Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, but only if you choose to accept optional advertising cookies. This choice is separate from analytics, and nothing is loaded or sent to Meta unless you accept. Accepting Google Analytics cookies does not authorise Meta advertising tracking, and the Meta Pixel is not used on any other page of this website.
Purpose: to measure how many people visit that page and request the guide after seeing Start With Ali ads on Facebook or Instagram, and to help those ads reach people likely to be interested.
Information collected: that the page was visited and that a guide request was successfully made, along with standard technical information Meta's cookie collects such as your browser, device, IP address and the page address. Your name, email address, form details, quiz answers and any health information are never sent to Meta. Automatic event detection and automatic advanced matching are switched off, and each successful guide request is counted only once.
Managing your choice: declining does not affect your access to the website or the guide. You can accept, decline or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. Withdrawing stops any further information being sent straight away. Cookies Meta has already set are not removed automatically; you can clear them in your browser settings.
Receiving your Starting Point and agreeing to marketing are two separate things. The marketing checkbox is optional and is never ticked for you. The current wording is:
“Yes, I would also like to receive simple wellbeing tips and occasional emails from Start With Ali. I can unsubscribe at any time.”
Where you do opt in, the consent status, the date and time, and the wording you agreed to are recorded.
Completing the quiz, requesting your Starting Point, sending a Talk to Ali enquiry, visiting a product page or clicking an Arbonne link are never treated as marketing consent. Requesting the free Better After 40 Guide does not automatically subscribe you to ongoing marketing emails; guide delivery and marketing consent are kept separate. If you unsubscribe, you will not be added back simply because you retake the quiz or get in touch.
The Starting Point email you asked for may be sent as part of providing the quiz experience. Any additional or ongoing emails are only sent where you have given marketing consent. If you request the free Better After 40 Guide, you will receive it by email even if you decline ongoing marketing communications.
Marketing emails identify the sender, include contact information and include a way to unsubscribe. Unsubscribing stops future marketing emails.
Trusted technology and service providers may be used to operate the website, store information, deliver emails and support website functionality. These currently may include Lovable, Supabase and Brevo.
Brevo is used to deliver the emails you request, such as your Starting Point and the Better After 40 Guide, and to manage marketing communications only where you have separately agreed to receive them.
Some providers may store or process information outside Australia. Brevo states that the servers it uses to store and process its databases are located within the European Union. The exact locations used by the other providers have not been confirmed for this policy yet.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us through the Talk to Ali page.
We will review and respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and delete personal information where appropriate, subject to any legal obligations or legitimate operational requirements that require us to retain certain records.
For example, we may retain a minimal record of an unsubscribe request to ensure you do not receive further marketing communications.
You may also withdraw your consent to ongoing marketing emails at any time.
If you have a privacy question or concern, send it through the Talk to Ali page and include enough detail for it to be looked into. Your enquiry will be reviewed and responded to appropriately.
Reasonable steps are taken to protect the information collected through this website. No method of transmitting information over the internet or storing it electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Personal information is not intentionally kept for longer than reasonably required for the purposes described above, subject to legal, operational and record-keeping requirements.
This policy may be updated if information handling practices or the services used change. The last updated date at the top of this page will change when it does.
